I ‘misplaced’ my camera battery charger during the move and it’s been hell trying to find a new one. Kind of ridiculous. So FO photo shoots have been delayed which makes me sad because I have some good stuff lined up!
In the meantime here’s what I have planned for early fall:
1. 100% Tussah silk given to me by my grandmother – I’m sure she bought it in Europe like 40 years ago. It’s beautiful. I love the color and it’s slubby texture. I’m going to make a slouchy, short-sleeve, top-down v-neck with a high-low hem. Ok, that last part is a maybe. I just finished the gauge swatch (!!!), so I’ll start on the top soon.
2. Cotton chambray for Grainline’s Maritime Shorts with the curved hem modification.
3. Cotton gauze with which I will be knocking off Wiksten’s super cute midi-length tank dress (first photo). I would wear that everyday.
I’m finding a lot of gaps in my closet. Loose dresses, slouchy tops and shorts are all that I want to wear. I’ll slowly build on that and add some cold weather pieces, too. I have a few really great coatings in my stash and I’d love to use at least one of them this year.
With a new place also comes the desire to nest. I’ve been hunting on Etsy for throw pillows and lamps. Trunks and treasures. Some things are reasonable, but I started balking at the prices of pillows. I wallowed for about five minutes, then remembered that I can sew. YAY. So in the next couple of weeks I’m going to make pillows out of this and this. And if extra ikat ends up in my shopping cart, so be it.

Nesting is fun. I love cool throw pillows because they can add instant somethin somethin, but you’re right at how insanely expensive they get!
